The Lexington Division of Police has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). It's the seventh straight year the department has been recognized as a world-class police agency.
For the seventh straight year, the Lexington Division of Police has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA).

The accreditation came after a stringent audit and review of Division of Police policies and operations by a team of external assessors.

The accreditation is for three years.

According to CALEA officials, the accreditation is a sign to people in Lexington that they have a world-class police agency.

Lexington Police Chief Ronnie Bastin and Assistant Police Chief Robert Stack accepted the accreditation during an award ceremony in North Carolina.
