An anti-homosexual and anti-abortion billboard is taken down.
A controversial billboard on Lexington's North side is suddenly removed overnight.
Lexington Police filed a police report on Thursday, saying the billboard from the Bluegrass Church of Christ was stolen.
A week ago the church posted the billboard just of New Circle Road, near the Old Frankfort Pike exit.
The sign cited Bible passages and said, "Homosexuality is an abomination" and "Abortion is Murder."
A spokesperson for the church says they're not surprise someone took down the sign.
They say since the billboard was put up they've been receiving negative and even threatening messages.
The billboard cost the church more than seven thousand dollars, and hoped to have the sign up for a year.
Lexington Police say they'll open an investigation into the case on Friday.
They say the suspect faces third degree criminal mischief charges.
