Lexington Police: Murder Suspect Arrested In Tennessee

Police said they worked with U.S. Marshals to arrest Maurice Ward, Junior, 21, in Shelby County, Tennessee on Monday. Police said he's the main suspect in a murder on Trent Boulevard in Lexington back on October 2nd.
Lexington police said that they worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to capture the main suspect from a murder in early October.

Officers said Maurice Ward, Jr., 21, was captured in Shelby County, Tennessee by U.S. Marshals.

Police said an arrest warrant was issued for Ward on murder charges stemming from a death in Lexington Oct. 2nd.

Around 2 p.m. Oct. 2nd, police say they went to the Northpoint Lexington Health Care Center on Trent Boulevard for a call of shots fired.

There, officers said they found Anthony Carol Beaumont, Jr. with multiple gunshot wounds.
 
Police said Beaumont was shot after a fight broke out between three people.

Beaumont and another person were sent to UK Hospital, where Beaumont later died.

Police were looking for a third person, who they later revealed to be Ward.

Officers said the suspect would be taken to Lexington and tried for murder charges.
