Some Lexington Police will soon be patrolling another city...briefly.

The Department says 28 Officers will be helping with security during the Presidential Inaugural Parade next Monday in Washington D.C.

And they have plenty of company.

They're among 2,600 officers from more than 90 departments going to the Capital.

It's the third inaugural to include Lexington Police.

Lt. Richard D. Willoby says, "They've been pleased with the presence we send, and the officers we sent to work that. They've been pleased with how we handle ourselves, and the professionalism we bring to the inauguration."

The Lexington Officers will be temporarily sworn in as Deputy US Marshals so that they'll have jurisdiction to help.

And this won't cost Lexington taxpayers a cent.

Lexington Police will be reimbursed by the Washington DC Police Department.
