A man has been arrested after Lexington police said he ran his van into a utility pole and then drove off early Tuesday morning.

Officers were told the white utility van bent the pole in half shortly after midnight along Walton Avenue, close to Aurora Drive.

At around 1, police said they spotted the van at a nearby home.

That's where they arrested Danny Wayne Conrad, 47, and charged him with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Power has since been restored to the area.
