Lexington Occupiers Celebrate Anniversary

Participants of last year's 'Occupy Lexington' come together in Phoenix Park and feed the homeless.
More than a dozen veterans of last year's 'Occupy Lexington' were reunited downtown in Phoenix Park on Saturday for the occupation's one year anniversary.

The event started with a 'pot-luck lunch' with dozens of the city's homeless.

Members of the movement also took turns speaking to the crowd about different social issues and how to keep the occupy movement alive.

Organizers say there have been a handful of local activist groups started from 'Occupy Lexington' and that they plan on meeting with local government leaders in the future to discuss some of the proposals citizens came up with during the original movement.
