Lexington Man Wanted For Rape Captured In Michigan

A Lexington man was arrested Thursday in Michigan after police said he was responsible for kidnapping and raping a woman in her own car in Lexington.
A Lexington man was arrested Thursday in Michigan after police said he was responsible for kidnapping and raping a woman in her own car in Lexington.

The reported incident happened in December 2013.

Police said the reported victim was found knocking on doors in the Bordeaux Drive area, asking for help after escaping her captor.

Investigators said the woman's car was stolen, with her still in it, from the Speedway near the intersection of Versailles Road and Alexandria Drive. 

The woman said she was raped by Parico Coffey, 22, of Lexington. 

Police said Coffey was spotted February 6, 2014, in Inkster, Michigan where he was arrested by U.S. Marshals.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is making plans to have Coffey returned to Lexington.
