A Lexington man, who admitted downloading child pornography images, has been sentenced to more than 8 years in federal prison.

A judge sentenced Jason Daniel Meade,33, to 103 months in prison. The judge also ordered Meade to be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office, for the rest of his life.

According to court documents, Meade downloaded hundreds of images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Meade’s sentence was increased because many of these images contained minors under the age of 12 and some were sadistic and violent in nature.

Under federal law, Meade must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence and must register as a sex offender when he is released.
