Lexington Man Sentenced To 35 Years For Manslaughter

Sidney Lane Williams, Junior, 38, of Lexington, was sentenced Friday to 35-years in prison for killing former co-worker Victor Martin, in 2010.
A Lexington man was sentenced to 35-years in prison on Friday for killing a former co-worker in 2010.

Sidney Lane Williams, Junior, 38, of Lexington, was found guilty last month of manslaughter in the death of Victor Martin, 39.

Williams was also found guilty of being a persistent felon, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Williams shot Martin, dumped his body near a driveway on Russell Cave Road and set it on fire.

Williams said he killed Martin in self-defense.

Williams' attorney said his client planned to appeal the conviction.

Williams was ordered on Friday to begin serving his sentence immediately.
