Lexington Man Accused Of Attacking Neighbor

Police said a man attacked his neighbor with a knife Saturday, sending her to the hospital and him to jail.
Lexington police arrested a man after they said he attacked his neighbor with a knife Saturday.

Police said Charles Bynum, 38, went into an apartment building in the 1100 block of Kees Road and cut the female victim in the neck around 5 a.m.

Officers said Bynum then ran out of the apartment, but police caught up to him at Keys Road and Russell Cave Road.

Police said he had blood on him. He was arrested and charged with burglary and assault.

The victim was sent to UK Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Bynum was staying with a friend in a unit within the same apartment complex, said officers. He apparently had some interaction with people living in the victim's unit before the attack happened.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
