The Lexington Humane Society said they've saved the lives of more than 30 dogs and puppies from a home less than a mile from their shelter.

They said a backyard breeder was hoarding Pomeranians inside a house that was in "some of the worst conditions" they had ever seen.

Officials said even as the canines were being removed, the owner was still trying to sell some of them over the phone.

The dogs are all receiving medical attention at the Lexington Humane Society.
