Lexington Firefighters Investigate Two Overnight Fires

For the second night in a row, firefighters were called to a Lexington neighborhood for a report of a suspicious fire.
Lexington firefighters were called to the same neighborhood for the second night in a row Tuesday.

Right around 1:30 a.m., firefighters got the call--two fires, burning within fifty feet of each other on Hill Rise Court.

One fire was in a dumpster, the other was burning the back of a garage. Firefighters said they were able to get both out fairly quickly.

An arson investigator was brought to the scene to check things out.

It's the second and third fire in the area in two days, the other just around the corner on Terrace View Drive the night before.

Firefighters said that fire didn't appear to be an accident. Witnesses told fire officials a man was seen throwing something into the apartment just before it caught fire.

Police were called to the scene to assist.

No one has been injured in any of the fires, and investigators have not said if they believe the fires to be linked.

Firefighters didn't call Tuesday's fires "suspicious", and instead said the cases were "under investigation."
