Lexington Firefighters are reminding the community that the strong winds make the area prone to wildfires.

Crews worked some grass fire calls Thursday night in the city.

Firefighters said the high winds and low humidity make it easy for wildfires to spark, then spread quickly.

They said you should never throw a cigarette or cigar butts on the ground or out of a vehicle.

Instead, make sure they are extinguished and disposed of properly.
