Lexington Fire Officials Investigating if 3 Fires are Connected

Three separate fires, all three inside abandoned homes, all in the same part of town and all three in less than a week. ABC 36's Paris Lewbel reports about what fire officials are saying about a possible connection.
In less than a week, three separate fires break out, all three inside of abandoned home homes, all in the same part of town.

It began last Thursday, as crews were called to a house fire on Second Street. Investigators ruled the cause of the fire as arson and one man was arrested.

Then on Tuesday morning, ABC 36's crews brought live breaking reports as crews responed to an abandoned duplex fire on the 300 block of Wilson. Fire investigators also ruled that fire an arson.

There have been no arrests in that case yet.

Then yesterday morning, another fire broke out in an empty house on Conley Drive. The cause of that fire is still under investigation.

Lexington Fire officials say they are looking into whether homeless people may have been "squatting" in some of these places.

Damage to another duplex unit on Tuesday's fire has forced a mother and her three children to find another place to live.

Lexington Police say if you see someone in a building that's supposed to be empty, call 9-1-1 right away.
