Children were among the masses trying to beat the heat Sunday in Lexington.

Several enjoyed splashing it up in the fountains outside the Fayette County Courthouse.

They were able to cool off under bright sunshine and temperatures in the 90's.

Meanwhile, Lexington's Aquatic Centers opened their pools Sunday.
