Lexington Fairness Honors Community Leaders

Lexington Fairness honored five community leaders on Friday who expressed their commitment to progressing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality and fairness.
Lexington Fairness honored five community leaders who expressed their commitment to progressing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality and fairness.

Those honored at the 5th Annual Fairness Awards included:
  • Ally for Fairness Award:  Aaron and Samara Baker
  • Jennifer Crossen Out for Fairness Award:  Troy Johnson
  • Fairness Leadership Award:  Jonathan Barker
  • Ernesto Scorsone Political Leadership Award:  Carol Denham, Darryl Denham and Zoe Chin
The recipients were chosen from a field of nominations that were submitted by the public and were selected by a committee of volunteer leaders from LGBT community organizations.

The awards kicked off a weekend of LGBT Pride celebrations, with the Lexington Pride Festival taking place on Saturday, June 30, at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza.

The free event encompasses a day filled with music, food and vendors celebrating the rights of the LGBT community.
