Lexington Doctor To Become AMA President

A Lexington doctor will head one of America's most prestigious and influencial medical groups.

Doctor Ardis Dee Hoven has been elected president of the American Medical Association, or A.M.A. She will serve as president-elect for one year, then become president in June of 2013.

Hoven has been an A.M.A. board member, its secretary, and its board chair. She says she wants to be a strong voice for patients and physicians.
