Doctor Ardis Dee Hoven, an infectious disease specialist at UK, was sworn in as the new American Medical Association President.
A Lexington doctor is now serving well beyond the reaches of the Bluegrass.

Doctor Ardis Dee Hoven is now the American Medical Association President. She was sworn in Wednesday morning. Hoven is an Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease Specialist at the University of Kentucky.

Hoven has been taking care of patients with infectious diseases including HIV and Aids since the 1980's, according to the AMA's website.
