Lexington Charity Closed After Fire

God's Quarters on East Eleventh is temporarily closed after a fire damaged part of the building Monday morning.
God's Quarters, a charity located on East Eleventh in Lexington, has been temporarily closed after a fire damaged part of the building Monday morning.

The Lexington Fire Department believes the fire started outside the building and then spread into the structure. Most of the fire and smoke damage was contained to an office in the front of the building.

God's Quarters provides free clothing, laundry service, and other help to more than 100 families each day.

Due to the damage, the charity will remain closed until further notice. Officials with the Catholic Action Center are asking those who have clothing donations to keep them for now and donate them when the building reopens.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No one was injured in the fire.

Other services provided by the Catholic Action Center at other locations will continue to operate as usual.
