A Lawrenceburg factory is earning nationwide honors.

General Cable has a facility in Lawrenceburg that makes wire and cable. That facility has been named one of the ten best plants in North America by Industryweek magazine. The magazine says its top ten list salutes plants that are competitive, and constantly looking for ways to improve.

"We're absolutely ecstatic to receive this recognition," plant manager Paul Furtado told ABC 36 News. "It's national recognition, it's a testimonial to all the hard work our associations have put into this facility over the last several years, so it's a really big day for us."

General Cable celebrated with an award ceremony Thursday.
