Wet roads were a factor in a crash on I-75 in Laurel County Tuesday morning that temporarily left two people trapped inside a car, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said Tonya Francis, 50, of Kokomo, Indiana, apparently lost control of her car in the northbound lane of I-75 during heavy rain.

Investigators said the car went over a guardrail, hit a rock wall and came to rest on its top.

The accident happened about seven miles north of London.

Investigators said Francis and her husband, Roger Francis, 50, of Kokomo, Indiana, were initially trapped inside the car.

The couple had to be extricated by the London-Laurel County Rescue Squad.

Tonya Francis was taken by ambulance to Saint Joseph Hospital-London.

Investigators said Roger Francis refused treatment.
