The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded Monday night to a "shots fired" call on Johnson Road.

Investigators said when they arrived, a man was holding his wife and two children hostage in the family's home.

Investigators said eventually the man released his wife, then later both children, unharmed, before giving himself up peacefully.

The man, whose name hasn't been released yet, was taken into custody.
