The Laurel County Sheriff's Office had the last laugh with a man accused of making bogus 9-1-1 calls because he thought it was "funny."
Phillip T. Johnston, 41, was arrested at a motel in London where investigators said he was staying.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said on Friday night, Johnston called 9-1-1 and said he was armed with a gun, was going to kill himself and that he would shoot anyone who came to try to help him.
Investigators said he told emergency dispatchers that he was at a home deep in the woods on Lassie J. Lane, west of London off Kentucky 192.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office, State Police, a Constable, EMS and Paramedics all responded to the scene, but couldn't find the subject or the home.
Investigators said Johnston made several more bogus calls to 9-1-1.
The Sheriff's Office said Johnston was finally tracked down at the motel where he reportedly made the fake calls.
Johnston was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident, Menacing and Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree.
He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
