Laurel Sheriff: Investigators Find Indoor Marijuana Growing Operation

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said investigators answering a domestic violence call on Friday found an indoor marijuana growing operation.

Investigators said Donnie R. Rutherford, 39, of Keavy, was charged with Cultivating in Marijuana (5 plants or more), 1st Offense, and Trafficking in Marijuana (less than 8 ounces), 1st Offense.

Investigators said they found 20 pot plants and approximately 2-ounces of processed marijuana, lights, fans, potting soil, a rifle with a scope, scales and cash in the mobile home.

Rutherford was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
