An inmate from the Laurel County Jail who walked away from work detail Thursday is back in custody.

Officials at the jail said Dale Valentine was picking up garbage on Dan Westerfield Road around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning. They said they got word that Valentine was at a home on Robinson Creek Road, which is where they found him hiding in the yard.

Laurel County corrections officers took Valentine into custody. He was originally serving time for several charges including DUI and traffic violations.
