The Laurel County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bizarre burglary at a home outside of London.

Deputies say they were called around 2:30 am Tuesday to a theft in progress on Harris Road.

The female homeowner told deputies that two women had pulled up in an SUV and told her they wanted to do laundry.

The Sheriff's Office says one of the women tried to distract the homeowner while the other stole items from the house.

When deputies arrived, they say they found one of the women hiding in a closet and the other woman outside the house.

Both women were arrested.

Deputies say the homeowner's purse, laptop, credit cards and checkbook were found in the SUV.

32-year-old Angie N. Bolton and 32-year-old Jolene Cornett are in jail facing several theft and drug charges.
