The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an ATV crash that happened on Saturday at 2 p.m. just six miles south of London on Pine Grove School Road.

Deputies said they found a woman with serious injuries where the ATV crash happened. But they didn’t see an ATV in the area.

The woman was then airlifted to the hospital.

After an investigation, deputies arrested Johnny Walters, 28, from Corbin. Police said they believe Walters was driving the ATV when it crashed.

Walters has been charged with Public Intoxication Controlled Substance, Leaving the Scene of an Accident involving Serious Physical Injury and Failure to Render Aid.

Walters is in the Laurel County Jail.

The Sheriff’s Office said the ATV was apparently taken away from the scene of the accident.
