The Laurel County Schools superintendent charged with drunk driving and resisting over the weekend has resigned.
Superintendent David Young was arrested on Saturday after he crashed his truck on US 25. Law Enforcement says Young's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit at the time of the arrest. Young pleaded not guilty to the charges on Monday. On Tuesday morning the Laurel County School Board announced they had accepted a letter of resignation submitted by Young.
Deputy superintendent, Denise Griebel, will be the acting superintendent until an interim superintendent is found.
