The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising motorists that U.S. 421 in Franklin County will be reduced to one lane between Clifty Drive and McCann Lane (mile points 5.2 and 6.2) due to pavement improvements.

Contract crews will be installing a high friction surface to a section of the roadway.  This material improves skid resistance on the pavement.

Lane closures are possible on Thursday, May 10th and Friday, May 11th from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. each day.  Flagmen will be directing traffic through the work zone.

The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.

Dial 511 or log on to 511.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  You can also get traffic information for the District 5 counties at www.facebook.com/KYTCDistrict5.
