Keeneland hosted a special "Ladies of the Turf" event Sunday, recognizing all retired and active female jockeys.

Women from 1969 through today were honored, including the first woman to compete against men in the Kentucky Derby, Diane Crump. Patti Barton, the first female to win 1,000 races.

The ladies' gathering was a part of a larger campaign called "Horses and Hope," with the goal of raising breast cancer awareness in women working in Kentucky's horse industry.
