Kentucky Wins Season Opener 89-57 Over UNC-Asheville

Kentucky's Julius Randle led five Wildcats in double figures with 23-points and 15-rebounds as UK overcame a sluggish start to win its season opener over UNC-Asheville 89-57.
Kentucky freshman Julius Randle led five Wildcats in double-figures with 23-points and 15-rebounds as UK overcame a sluggish start to win its season opener 89-57 over UNC-Asheville in Rupp Arena Friday night.

Freshman Marcus Lee was second in scoring for Kentucky with 17, James Young had 11 to go along with Alex Poythress and Aaron Harrison, who had 10-points apiece.

Kentucky is right back in action on Sunday when they host Northern Kentucky University at 4:00 p.m. in Rupp Arena.

The Wildcats are expected to get their first real test of the young season on Tuesday in Chicago when they take on Michigan State.  It will be the Wildcats third game in five days.
