Senator Mitch McConnell and Senator Rand Paul both voted for a filibuster Thursday on a gun control bill that is now being voted on by the Senate.

The bill would require background checks for guns bought at gun shows.

The filibuster failed. 68 senators voted to move forward, which is more than the 60 necessary.

This doesn't mean the bill passed, just that the process will continue.
