Kentucky Mine Closing This Summer

     At least 156 in Western Kentucky are going to have to find new jobs after the announcement that an underground coal mine is closing in Henderson.  The Gleaner reports that Patriot Coal Company will shut down it's Freedom mine this summer.  The company cites continued weakness in market demand as the reason for the closure.  The mine produced 1.2 million tons of thermal coal last year alone.
