Wednesday, April 9 has been designated Kentucky Gives Day, an initiative to encourage Kentuckians to support local charities.

Organized by the Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc. and presented by Baptist Health, Kentucky Gives Day is an innovative online fundraising event that encourages Kentuckians to donate as much money as possible in support of their favorite participating charities in just twenty-four hours.

Beginning at 12 am EST on April 9 and continuing until 11:59pm EST, Kentuckians can go online to
kygives.org, connect with causes and make tax-deductible donations to support the important work of Kentucky charities.

“We saw the collective power of philanthropy with last year’s inaugural Kentucky Gives Day and we are excited to build on this success,” said Danielle Clore, executive director of the Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc. in a press release.  “Nonprofits work to strengthen our communities and they need our support. I encourage all Kentuckians to go online on April 9 and become part of a historic day of generosity in our Commonwealth.”
