Kentucky Doctor Settles In Federal Drug Case

The settlement agreement says that from June 2009 to May 2012, Dr. Laura Hazeltine didn't keep an accurate inventory of controlled substances.
A doctor from Prestonsburg has paid the U.S. government $50,000 to settle civil claims that she failed to account for nearly 5,000 prescription pills at her office according to the U.S. Attorney.

The settlement agreement says that from June 2009 to May 2012, Dr. Laura Hazeltine didn't keep an accurate inventory of controlled substances.

Dr. Hazeltine has surrendered her DEA registration which means she's no longer allowed to write prescriptions for controlled substances.
