A Kentucky Senate Committee voted that Kentucky should ignore any new gun regulations from Washington DC that are passed after January 1, 2013.
But not everyone agrees with this decision, including “Organizing for Action” in Kentucky. The group came together for a candle vigil in downtown Lexington today to give a voice to the many innocent lives lost due to gun violence.
“Gun violence has affected so many families and so many lives,” Keidra King, with Organizing for Action. “This is an issue that just affects all of us.”
OFA said the goal of the “They Deserve a Vote Now” candle vigil was to send a message to Congress to reduce gun violence.
They aren’t the only organization holding gun rallies though. Last month a group of gun enthusiasts rallied at the capitol in Frankfort against any new gun restrictions.
