Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 7 plow-operators continue to remove snow and ice across all central Kentucky counties. Crews will work through the evening rush hour and into tomorrow morning.

District 7 is working to conserve and manage the remaining provisions of salt and calcium chloride, which have declined due to the continued precipitation and a large number of winter storm events. The cabinet is pursuing several options to supply the district with more salt.

In order to maintain supplies, the roadway treatment plan for the next 48 hours will be the following in order:

•Interstate lane mileage (1st priority)
•Parkway lane mileage (2nd priority)
•Priority routes (3rd - specific to each individual county)

Motorists should expect snow covered roads and icy conditions tonight and tomorrow morning.

The cabinet also continues to remind motorists:
•Exercise greater caution when driving. Slow down.
•Be prepared for slick conditions.
•Give a wide berth to snow plows and other heavy highway equipment.
•Eliminate distractions while behind the wheel.
