We told you Wednesday that Kentucky was in the top 20 for toxic air pollution from power plants.

It gets worse.

The National Resources Defense Council released more details Thursday.

The group now says Kentucky is first on that list.

The council says coal-powered plants in Kentucky put out almost 41-million pounds of harmful chemicals in 2010.

That's about 13% of all toxic power plant pollution in the United States.
