A Senate Committee passed a proposed measure Thursday that would require women to look at ultrasound images before having an abortion.

The decision came as more than 1,000 people who support the legislation rallied in Frankfort.

Another measure that would require women to get consultations with doctors before abortions was also approved.

The proposals have repeatedly cleared the Senate for years only to die in the House.
