The American Red Cross is getting more help for its disaster relief efforts.

The Kentucky House of Representatives raised more than $25,000 for the non-profit group.

House Minority Leader Jeff Hoover and Majority Floor Leader Rocky Adkins initially challenged House members to raise $10,000.

And in less than 2 weeks, that number doubled.

The money went to the Red Cross Bluegrass Chapter.

It says more than 2,000 homes were either damaged or destroyed by the recent tornadoes.
