The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission came very close Monday to banning an anti-bleeder medication called 'Lasix.'

It has critics who call it a performance-enhancing drug.

A committee voted 4 to 1 to ban it.

But later, the full Commission vote was 7 to 7.

With the commission, a tie means the measure fails so Lasix will not be banned for now.

If the ban had passed, Kentucky would have been the first state to prohibit the drug on race days.
