Congressman John Yarmuth of Louisville says he's willing to take on the gun lobby to push for new legislation to reduce gun violence.

Yarmuth apologized Monday for being mostly silent about gun violence, since he's been in office.

He says many politicians fear the National Rifle Association.

Yarmuth will be the only Democrat in Kentucky's Congressional Delegation, when Ben Chandler leaves office next month.
