A documentary premieres, receptions are planned, and a symposium will be held to celebrate the Governor's Mansion Centennial.
The Kentucky Governor’s Mansion reaches an historic milestone this year, turning 100 years old on January 20.
The national landmark has been home to 25 Kentucky governors and has served as an impressive setting for welcoming dignitaries from across the globe as well as the citizens of the Commonwealth.
The Centennial is being marked with a yearlong celebration of events honoring the Mansion’s architectural, social and political history.
The celebration starts Wednesday, January 15 with the Frankfort premiere of a documentary that outlines the mansion's history, narrated by Kentucky native Diane Sawyer. A similar reception and premiere follows the next day in Lexington.
A Centennial Symposium is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22.
