A Marion County woman has died after State Police said she crashed into a semi on US Highway 68 Friday afternoon.

According to police, 36-year-old Elizabeth Pittman was on the west side of Lebanon when she tried to pass another driver, but couldn't due to oncoming traffic.

Troopers said she then lost control of her car and went off the roadway.

However, they said when Pittman managed to get back on the highway, she crashed into the back end of a semi.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner.

No one else was hurt.
