Kentucky State Police and Danville Police are investigating the death of a 3 year old girl in Boyle County.

Investigators said they were informed Monday night that the child was unresponsive when she arrived at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital.

According to troopers, the Danville child was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

The Coroner said Alexa K. Raley died just after 10:30 p.m. as a result of her injuries.

An autopsy was scheduled Tuesday in Frankfort to establish the cause of death.

Based on the initial investigation, authorities said they believed that Raley’s injuries were a result of her being assaulted.
