KSP: Man Busted For Trafficking Heroin Into Jessamine Co.

State Police arrested a man who troopers said tried to smuggle a large amount of heroin into Jessamine County.

Investigators said they received information that the drugs would be brought Monday into Central Kentucky.

State Police said Mahmoud Alkhazalah, 60, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree.

Troopers reportedly found more than $2,200 in cash and close to 14 ounces of heroin during the arrest.

According to investigators, the drugs had a street value of about $78,000.
