KSP Investigating Death from Alleged Physical Assault

An investigation is underway in Lincoln County by State Police after they said an assault on Sunday resulted in the death of a man on Thursday.

KSP said 59-year-old Roger Gooch was attacked at his home on Blue Lick Road by Jerrill Alcorn, 21, during a burglary.

According to the Fayette County Coroner, Gooch died at UK Hospital on Thursday from the injuries he received in the alleged assault.

Alcorn was arrested on Tuesday and charged with assault and burglary. He was lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
