State Police said two men are on the run after they allegedly impersonated police officers and shot a man at his home.

They said it happened in Knox County shortly after 5 Friday morning on Salt Gum Hollow Road.

According to KSP, the men kicked in the home's door, claiming to be police officers, and got into a struggle with 29-year-old Donald Mills.

That's when they said one of the men shot him.

His wife then took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers are looking for a maroon, four-door, Ford F-150 pickup truck with tinted windows, chrome steps and possibly a push bar in the front.

They caution anyone who sees the truck not to approach it, but to instead call State Police.
