Kentucky State Police and search teams have looked over 800 acres in southeast Madison County the last week and  a half looking for 18 year-old Brookelyn Farthing.

There was no sign of Farthing anywhere in that area, so now the search has been expanded to three other counties.

KSP says they're searching to the South in Estill, Jackson, Rock Castle and  Madison counties.

They say Farthing was last seen near a road that traveled to the South into Jackson County.

Police are asking for landowners to specifically look for fresh up-turned dirt or strange smells coming from the property.

That may seem like they're looking for a dead body,  but police say they're far from giving up hope that Brookeln Farthing is still alive.
