Jury Duty Phone Scam Reported In Pulaski County

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said there are reports of people being called and told they missed jury duty and would be arrested unless they paid to have the warrant recalled. Investigators said it was a scam. Don't fall for it.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said a jury duty phone scam, that had been reported in other Kentucky counties, had surfaced in Pulaski County.

Investigators said people reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

The caller reportedly told them they had missed jury duty and would be arrested unless they paid money to have the arrest warrant recalled.

Sheriff's Deputies said it was a scam.  Don't fall for it.

If you did miss jury duty, you would receive a letter in the mail on official letterhead from the Office of Judge Jeffrey Burdette notifying them of the absence and it would have a specific appearance date.

If a potential juror didn't show up on the assigned date, a criminal summons, not an arrest warrant, would be issued to be served by the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information about the bogus jury duty phone calls is asked to call the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office at 606-678-5145.
